Have you already studied the art of painting using Acrylics and want to learn more? This is the course for you! The mixed ability course allows learners to progress at their own speed, our tutor will set projects which will be adjusted for each learner individually depending on their skills to allow for deeper learning and to develop skills according to ability. All levels welcome just bring a willingness to learn and have fun!  

Who is this course for?
This is a course aimed at people with some experience of painting with Acrylics, or for those wishing to re-ignite a love of painting! We will use a variety of techniques and stimuli to create a series of projects during the course. These will be guided, thus encouraging you to develop a way of working to develop good techniques and new skills. Suitable for everyone who wants a learn a little more.

Entry requirements
This course is aimed at individuals who have some experience in painting using acrylics. Our tutor will differentiate the projects according to the capability of the learners so all abilities welcome.

Course aims
Is your inner creative clambering to surface? Are you wanting to paint but do not have the time at home? Perhaps you simply do not know where to start? Start here! Join me on a journey creating bright acrylic paintings in guided sessions suitable for everyone. Learn how to mix colour and apply it using a range of tools and techniques. Explore and experiment by making marks to create your very own unique artwork using acrylic paint using a variety of stimulus from the world around us, other artists work and your imagination. Learn something new today!

How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led group activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
You will be expected to review your notes between lessons to ensure maximum benefit from your course. It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. Your tutor may encourage home learning, or independent research.

How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a notepad, and pen to each session. You may wish to bring a file for any handouts. A laptop with internet access is required for completion of coursework and home learning outside of the classroom. Please note that food and drink are not permitted to be consumed in the classroom. You may bring a bottle of water with a lid with you if required.

Career opportunities
Many artists showcase their work at exhibitions or open their own shops. Teaching art is another way of showcasing your new skills. Other career opportunities can include graphic design or opening a business in upcycling furniture.

Most courses attract a subsidy from the Education and Skills Funding Agency and can be used to match fund for ESF. It is a requirement of the ESFA that you complete various forms at different stages of your course, further information is available on request.
