The aim of this course is to provide the learner with an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), personal centred care, and the importance of communication skills when working with individuals  

Who is this course for?
Over 19s who wish to gain employment in the health and social care sector, or are already employed and are looking to upskill.

Course aims
We will explore:- What is meant by the term Autism Spectrum Disorder, behavioural characteristics associated with ASD; ways to support sensory hypersensitivity; and the importance of a person-centred approach.

How will the course be delivered?
Course shall be delivered via a face to face tutorials and self study

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
You will be expected to review your notes between lessons to ensure maximum benefit from your course.

How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a pen and notepad. Full commitment and willingness to participate and learn.
