Description
Throughout this ten week course we will look at the origins of the Still Life painting and its evolution into the contemporary world. We will use drawing, painting and collage to depict our chosen imagery, flowers, fabrics. As the weeks progress you will gain confidence, skill and ability in using lots of different techniques.Towards the end we will look at two printing techniques which can be used without any presses. This will be a fun, creative space in which to learn new skills and enjoy the process of making wonderful images.
Who is this course for?
This course is aim at anyone wanting to explore and have fun, while making images that they can feel proud of.This is for people either returning to study, looking for a safe space to play and create. Exploring mixed media, collage, paint and pastels, we aim to build your confidence and passion for creating stunning Still Lifes.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements, this course is for complete beginners. People with a limited amount of knowledge on the subject may join this course to refresh their knowledge.

Course aims
To give the learner guidance and encouragement in developing their own unique style and flare. Through recapping on different techniques and styles, students can experiment and grow their areas of passion.
How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led group activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.
Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. But there is no formal requirement to do so.
How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan.
What will I need for the course?
Please bring a notepad, and pen to each session. You may wish to bring a file for any handouts. A digital device with internet access is required for completion of coursework and home learning outside of the classroom.
