This workshop will be an introduction to basic hair styling tools and products commonly used for festival hairstyles. Demonstration and hands-on practice of basic techniques such as braiding and adding hair to create rainbow braids.Tips for working with different hair texture. Demonstration and practice of more intricate festival hairstyles, such as fishtail braids and space buns. How to add hair tinsel and where to place for different affects. One-on-one assistance and troubleshooting.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements, this course is for complete beginners. People with a limited amount of knowledge on the subject may join this course to refresh their knowledge.

Demonstration and hands-on practice of basic techniques such as braiding, adding hair to create rainbow braids. Tips for working with different hair textures and lengths. Demonstration and practice of more intricate festival hairstyles, such as fishtail braids and space buns and how to apply glitter to compliment the style. Learn how to use tinsel and where best to place. Hands-on practice with individualised feedback from the tutor. Tips for maintaining festival hairstyles throughout the day.

How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led group activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. But there is no formal requirement to do so.

How will I know I'm making progress?
At the beginning of the session, your tutor will share with you the objectives of the day, which will give you an opportunity to think about your individual aims for the session. At the end of the session, you will have time to share your experience and reflect on what you learned.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a pen and notepad.
